A visit to St Mary’s is a unique opportunity for children to see an outstanding work of art and learn about a fascinating time in history. The visit can play a part in the teaching of religious education, local history, creative art and science and is relevant to the current curriculum in many ways.
The whole day was a big success and each part complemented the other really well, so I know both the staff and children got a lot from it – Lucy Pullan, Teacher Alston Primary School
