Friends of St Mary’s Church

In recognition of the unique character of St Mary’s Church and the national and international interest known to exist with regard to the building and its history, we are inviting people to become ‘Friends’.

It is in her buildings that we have to look for her: she left stones and wood, not letters, for us to read – Jenny Uglow, The Pinecone

The Friends support the Parochial Church Council in the maintenance, preservation, repair and improvement of the fabric, fittings and furniture of the church, by raising funds and invite contributions by way of education, research, publications, meetings and other appropriate events.

Each year they hold an Annual Friends Event which celebrates an aspect of the church, the Losh family or local history. It is open to registered Friends and other interested parties alike.

Friends receive a copy of the newsletter, ‘Pinecone’, twice a year giving news of the society’s activities.

If you are interested in becoming a Friend and keeping in touch, then email our treasurer, Mike Jones, on mj.146@hotmail.com.
